Richland girls basketball team after UIL Class 4A Division I state semifinals. This was a huge accomplishment for only being their first year in the program. "The key factor for our success was the standard we set for ourselves early on because of it being a new school," sophomore Katherine Taylor said. "It wasn't just about talent, it was about our work ethic we put in for every practice and the relentless effort we brought to every game."

In the third segment of The Story Guide: Crosstown Book Reviews, co-hosts and sophomores Heather Davis and Polly Greaves discuss their likes and dislikes for the paranormal romance novel, “Hush, Hush” by Becca Fitzpatrick. It came out in 2009, and is the first in a series of four books. Davis and Greaves review the original plot ideas, the characters, and how they liked the ending. The podcast can also be viewed on Greaves’ newspaper, Eagle Nation Online.

Sophomore Heather Davis is a swimmer and player for the Richland Varsity Swim and Water Polo teams. She loves reading, writing, poetry, and shopping online for jewelry. This is her second year on a newspaper staff but her first time on the editorial board. She joined the newspaper team because of her love of all things writing, and to hone her writing and photography skills. She first started writing when she won an Honorable Mention award at the Collin County Poetry Contest in 2023.
